Written in a Tropical Glow (Special Edition)

Dallas: DeGolyer Library, 2018. The book is in two parts: the first is a narrative history of the biological exploration of the Neotropics. The second part describes and investigates the books as physical objects. This special edition is a printing of 40 copies printed on Nideggen, a German mould-made paper with a beautiful color and texture. These copies are bound by Jace Graf at Cloverleaf Studio with a dark grey morocco spine, the boards covered in a unique Maharam cloth, opening to end papers of Amate, a Mexican hand-made bark paper. These special edition books are not just a tricked-out trade copies: they are genuinely special, utilizing materials and skills rarely encountered today.
