Perkins School of Theology is partnering with the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference to bring the Preacher's Toolbox to licensed pastors.  

 

Topics covered:

  • Interpreting a Scripture passage for preaching
  • Choosing one theme for the sermon that is theologically sound, fitting to the congregation, and faithful to the text in context
  • Choosing a sermon form that moves from itch to scratch
  • Honing our attentiveness to imagery, story, and scene in Scripture and life
  • Developing effective techniques for delivering the sermon appropriate to the preacher’s character, personality, and context

Date/Time: Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Join Dr. O. Wesley Allen, Jr., for a one-day workshop that will equip participants with a method of preparation they can use throughout their preaching ministries. By the end of the day, participants will have the skeleton of a sermon for an upcoming Sunday.

OIMC will be getting hotel rooms for attendees of the Preacher's Toolbox.

Since space is limited, you must register by August 31.

You will receive a copy of The Preacher's Bible Handbook, written by the facilitator, Dr. Allen.
