This course, led by Dr. Emily Nelms Chastaine and Dr. Hugo Magallanes will bring students through Wesley’s England while simultaneously learning about British Methodism in the 21st century.
GTE Immersion Courses are regular academic courses taught off-campus in culturally complex situations. Students are expected to pay for their tuition, fees, and travel costs.
The GTE program provides travel stipends to cover all or part of travel costs for students. Apply in this form. NOTE: Travel stipends are based on financial need as determined by the student’s FAFSA application. All applicants for travel stipends must be Perkins students and must have a FAFSA on file to apply for a travel stipend.
The GTE program does not provide assistance with tuition and fees. Students should check with the financial aid office for assistance with tuition and fees.
The course syllabus will be provided by the instructors. Travel details will be provided on the GTE website as soon as they are confirmed. All participants will have single rooms unless they request otherwise. Double rooms will be assigned to married couples when available.
The registration deposit is fully refundable before May 1, 2024. The final travel cost will be approximately US $3000.00 plus airfare and some meals. Participants must book and purchase their own air tickets. Full travel details will be available after March 30th on the GTE website.
There are very limited spaces for non-students wishing to go on this trip, and priority will be given to student participants and their spouses/partners. These limited spaces will be allocated on “first come, first served” based on the completion of the GTE registration form and payment.
Final Payment will be due on June 1st, 2026.
