International companies or institutions may require a certified copy of a diploma for the purpose of employment or to attend educational institutions. The University Registrar’s Office can assist you in obtaining the degree certifications. SMU degree certifications are accepted both domestically and internationally. Please select the type of certification that you need - whether diploma certifications or transcript certifications.
An original or replacement diploma must be presented in order to process the degree certifications. See instructions below should the Apostille (State seal) be required. Certifications are processed within 48 business hours upon receipt of the diploma whether brought to the Registrar's Office in person or received by mail delivery.
